Privacy Policy
Updated May 29, 2026
This policy explains what information Local Hearth Side does and does not handle. The site is a static reference; it has no user accounts, no analytics scripts, and no advertising.
Cookies and local storage
Local Hearth Side does not set tracking cookies. The only item stored on your device is a single browser localStorage value that records whether you selected Accept or Reject in the cookie notice shown on the home page. This value stays in your browser, is not transmitted anywhere, and exists only so the notice does not reappear on every visit.
- What is stored: one preference value (accepted or rejected).
- Where: your browser's localStorage, on your own device.
- How to remove it: clear site data for this domain in your browser settings.
The contact form
The contact form on the home page runs entirely in your browser. When you submit it, the form simulates the action locally, shows a confirmation, and clears the fields. The name, email, and phone number you enter are not sent to a server and are not stored after the page is closed.
External links and images
Articles link to third-party reference sites and load images hosted by Wikimedia Commons. When your browser loads those resources or you follow a link, the third party may receive standard technical information such as your IP address, as with any web request. Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.
Children's privacy
This site is a general-interest reference and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated date at the top of the page will change with it.
